Santa Cruz Island Sheep and Lambs

A short video of the Santa Cruz Island ewes and lambs greeting their mixed-flock "neighbors."  This is what happened when we went into the field with the ewes and lambs and they, plus the sheep in the adjoining field, thought we might have brought some alfalfa.  In a week or so we are probably going to combine these flocks - the lambs should be big enough and savvy enough by then to avoid being trampled by excitement during feeding time.

Since this video was taken, we put Georgie the llama in with the ewes and lambs - this morning.  After 2 or 3 days, we will combine the two flocks into one flock.  Georgie was already renewing her acquaintance with the sheep in the west pasture.
