More Christmas Decorating

Here are the wreaths on our gates, hand made by inexpert me. The first one is on our main gate that opens onto the road. This one is rosemary and juniper.

The second wreath is on the gate on our driveway to the house. This wreath is rosemary, juniper, and pine - mostly Italian stone pine (previous Christmas trees now growning outside) with one sprig of the native gray pine (aka foothill pine) to cover a bare spot. There's our car in the background with its headlights still on.

While I'm at it, I take the liberty of showing you our Christmas tree:

which is a small dwarf Alberta spruce (live tree, we use a live tree every year). I hope to plant this in larger containers and use it for a few more years, it's really pretty. And here it is December 23, and I haven't put ornaments on the tree, just the lights. It's still pretty, especially at night.

One more decoration:

It's a little glare-y, but it is a nice dark willow basket with pine cones, a shamrock garland from St. Patrick's day a few years back (the shiny green), and a short string of white LED lights - hence the brightness. We think it's pretty and the shamrocks are a tribute to Jim's Irish ancestry!

In the meantime, have a very Merry Christmas! and Happy New Year!
